The debut album from The Human Empire sees a re-recording of the four tracks from tHe's "First Steps" demo, and three others. This short but incredibly ambitious album includes performances from over sixty musicians, including the Henry Sibley Orchestra and various students and faculty from McNally Smith College of Music. The album was recorded at the McKern Studio Complex at McNally Smith College, and the St. Paul History Theater.
Musically, I Am We Are represents a blending of Celtic, Arabic, African, and Latin tradition with its driving percussion, broad instrumentation, and intricate vocal harmonies.
